About me

I have a passion for understanding why human beings work as they do and how learning frameworks, assisted by social technology, could be developed to match the challenges of the 21st century.
I also want to see better use of ICT and social media. Currently I many times feel we are too much of just toying with the technology, instead of using its true potential. Too many times technologies are introduced or built by people who often lack the understanding of how humans work in various different contexts.
As a so-called digital native myself (a term which I find a bit uneasy with, but I cannot deny that many time it has its place), I’m also trying to define myself in a world which seems to be in a gap between paradigms, not made of just age, but cultural and psychological aspects.
In this blog I explore these ideas from my own perspective, trying to use these reasonings as part of my personal learning journey.
If you want to change ideas, let’s talk more!

Dear Marko Teras (And, I do hope that I am addressing the correct Marko Teras.)
Regarding your comment about the educational technology conference list being presented in Word, kindly refer to the link provided at the top of the list and noted here: http://newsletter.alt.ac.uk/2011/08/why-distribute-documents-in-ms-word-or-openoffice-for-an-international-audience/
Note also that you have a choice – you can search the web for a conference list that meets your requirements or seek someone on the Web who has placed the list in a form that is pleasing to you.
May you have a most excellent day!
